ROUTABOUT PRIVACY MODES Routabout offers multiple privacy options designed to give users meaningful control over how their information is processed. Standard Mode In Standard Mode, Routabout may route your requests to one or more AI models operated by Routabout or by third-party AI providers. Information necessary to process your request may be transmitted to those providers. Conversation history, context data, and account preferences are retained by Routabout to provide core Service features, including conversation continuity, personalization, and model switching.
Routabout may use conversation data from Standard mode sessions to train, evaluate, and improve its AI systems, using abstracted behavioral patterns and quality signals — not raw conversation content. Privacy Mode (In-House) Privacy Mode routes your requests to our contracted in-house tier (Mistral la Plateforme, EU) only. Your queries do not reach external frontier AI providers. Routabout retains your conversation history, summaries, and account data in the same way as Standard mode — the difference is which AI provider receives your query, not what Routabout stores.
Routabout may use conversation data from Privacy mode sessions to train, evaluate, and improve its AI systems, using abstracted behavioral patterns and quality signals — not raw conversation content. If you choose to use an external AI provider while Privacy Mode is enabled, please note: no automated privacy technology is perfect, and users with highly sensitive confidentiality requirements should use Ephemeral Mode instead. In those circumstances, Routabout may apply automated privacy-preserving techniques intended to remove, replace, or reduce personal information before transmitting content outside Routabout’s systems. Although Routabout employs safeguards designed to reduce disclosure of personal information, users should not assume that all identifying information can be removed in every circumstance.
Ephemeral Mode Ephemeral Mode is designed to minimize retention. When Ephemeral Mode is enabled, Routabout does not retain conversation content, generated responses, summaries, embeddings, or persistent conversation records associated with the session after processing is complete. Ephemeral sessions are never used to train or improve Routabout's AI systems — no record of session content is retained after processing completes. Certain limited operational records may still be retained, including billing, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, or legally required records.
These records do not include the substance of the conversation itself.
